The Essentials in Public Health is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) developed by the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, which is an APACPH member institution. The course is a FREE 13-week programme, which opens on June 1, 2016 till August 30, 2016. Those who completes the course will receive a certificate of completion.
The course will provide candidates with introduction to the core areas of Public Health such as epidemiology, statistics, family health, behavioral sciences, environmental health and health administration. It will assist in the understanding of public health practice in the future. The practice involve the strategic, organised and interdisciplinary application of knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to perform essential public health service and other activities to improve the populations’ health. It will be beneficial for candidates who are planning to take postgraduate course in Public Health, Global Health and International Health.
