The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Indonesia, made a short visit to the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine (SPM), the University of Malaya from 14th May 2018 until 18th May 2018. Universitas Airlangga was represented by the Deputy Dean of Development, Dr Thinni Nurul and a senior lecturer, Dr Ernawaty.
During the visit to the Department, they had the opportunity to further discuss matters related to hosting APACPH Conference in 2020 at the Asia Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) secretariat office together with President-Elect, Dr Low Wah Yun and Executive Officer, Ms Camelina Chan.
In addition, they were able to gain more insight about the health economics and health policy in Malaysia such as the projection of Hep C burden and implication of screening and treatment of Hep C, and CEA of introducing rotavirus vaccine in Malaysia.
The 5-days visit had been very fruitful and APACPH encourages capacity building and student exchange between its members’ institutions.
