Dear respective APACPH members,
Happy new year to you all. I hope you celebrated the start of 2020 in good spirits with family and friends. Now that we’re a few days into the new year, it’s good to look ahead and think about what this year may bring us.
I would like to start by thanking the Executive Council (EC) Board, and the members of APACPH for their support and confidence in allowing me to carry out the role and duties of the President of APACPH.
I would like to congratulate all the newly elected EC members and express my high gratitude to the previous EC members for their enthusiastic contribution to APACPH. I especially want to thank Dr. Masamine Jimba for his contribution and leadership during the past 2 years and handing off the baton so smoothly.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you as the President of APACPH, a position entrusted to me by the honourable members of APACPH, on the mandate of the electorate during the General Assembly at the 51st APACPH Conference which was held recently in Bangkok, Thailand on November 20th, 2019.
APACPH aims in improving the health quality and well-being of populations in the Asia-Pacific regions. It is a purpose that I have always been proud of and therefore I am honoured for the opportunity to contribute further in this role. With the help of APACPH Members’ continuous hard work on various activities, we would be able to take crucial role in working towards a better global health and consolidate our position in health area.
My first duty as the President is to inform you that the 51st APACPH Conference was a significant success. I would like to sincerely thank Mahidol University for hosting the Conference and contributing their expertise, time and efforts to hold the Conference. Special thanks to the authors of keynote and technical papers, participants and all others who have contributed to the success of this conference. The number of participants attending our annual conferences is growing each year and I am sure that we would offer invaluable opportunities to the participants by providing many quality sessions. I do hope, APACPH can aim higher, particularly in the Global Public Health in this era.
I would like to appreciate every member’s effort for the prosperity of APACPH and I wish your active participation for the future of APACPH. Last but not least, I am very delighted to inform you that the 52nd APACPH Conference will be held in Surabaya, Indonesia hosted by Airlangga University. I look forward to seeing you all again next year in Indonesia.
Wishing you a Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come.
Thank you.
