On 21st February 2022, Prof Indika Karunathilake, the APACPH Secretary-General and former president of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, was invited by one of the leading television channels in Sri Lanka. The TV show, Face The Nation, was discussing the current Omicron surge happening across the world.
During the discussion, Prof Indika highlighted the need for adhering to basic public health measures, evidence-based scientific approach, empowering the developing the capacity of the general public, and the importance of vaccination during COVID-19 new normal.
