The Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Executive Council conducted a site visit to Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, Thailand on the 21-Feb-2025, the host of the upcoming 56th APACPH Conference 2025. This visit marks an important milestone in the preparation for this prestigious event, which will bring together public health leaders, researchers, and educators from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Meeting Highlights
The visit began with a warm welcome from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darunee Wattanasiriwech, Vice-President of Mae Fah Luang University. In a gesture of hospitality, Dr. Wattanasiriwech presented souvenirs to the APACPH Executive Council members in attendance, followed by a group photo session that captured the spirit of collaboration between the university and APACPH.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Wipob Suttana, Dean of the School of Health Science, provided a comprehensive update on the progress of organising the 56th APACPH Conference. The presentation highlighted the university’s commitment to hosting a successful and impactful event that addresses the conference theme: “Public Health Challenges in a Disruptive World”.
Site Tour
In the afternoon, the APACPH Executive Council members were given a tour of the various venues at Mae Fah Luang University where the conference will be held. The tour of the facilities was lead by Panupong Patarachoa, Associate Dean School of Health Science. This firsthand look at the facilities allowed the council to assess the suitability of the spaces and provide valuable input for the conference planning.

The site visit saw strong participation from the APACPH Executive Council, with members attending both in person and virtually. Notable attendees included:

- Prof. Dr. Hung Yi Chiou, Vice President Finance and President-Elect (Taipei Medical University, Taiwan)

- Prof. Dr. Maznah Dahlui, Vice President Admin (University of Malaya, Malaysia)
Several other distinguished members from various institutions across the Asia-Pacific region also participated, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives in the planning process.
